Look at Android's grip on Asia country by country and the picture splits wide open - near-total in India, a genuine coin flip against iOS in Malaysia. Every figure below comes from the same StatCounter dataset, July 2026, so the comparison actually holds up.

Android vs iOS by Country, July 2026

CountryAndroidiOS
India92.44%7.50%
Pakistan91.16%8.72%
Bangladesh90.99%8.95%
Philippines87.67%12.32%
Indonesia77.18%22.78%
Thailand64.27%35.69%
Malaysia54.46%45.51%

India: Above 92%

India is the strongest Android market of the seven by a clear margin, and for an Android APK catalog, that's about as good as platform share gets. 1xBet's India-specific app page reflects exactly that.

Pakistan: Above 91%

Pakistan runs right behind India, at over nine times iOS's share. It doesn't get its own dedicated market piece here yet, but the number puts it solidly in the same Android-first bracket as India and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh: Around 91%

Bangladesh sits close behind Pakistan. We went deeper on connectivity and user growth in Android in Bangladesh 2026, if the OS number alone isn't enough context.

Philippines: Around 88%

The Philippines rounds out the strong-Android tier, with iOS taking a bit more than one in eight devices - a real minority, but not one that changes the overall picture much.

Indonesia: Around 77%

Indonesia is still clearly Android country, but iOS has a real foothold here, and 22.78% isn't a rounding error.

Thailand: Around 64%

Thailand is the first real drop-off in the list - still majority Android, but with more than a third of the market on iOS, a meaningfully different content strategy than the markets above it.

Malaysia: Basically a Coin Flip

Malaysia is the odd one out of the seven, by a wide margin, running 54.46% Android to 45.51% iOS.

Malaysia doesn't belong in the same "Android dominates" bucket as the rest of this list. Content aimed at MS readers needs to justify an Android catalog on its own terms, not lean on a market share that isn't actually there.

What This Means for Content

Write for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or the Philippines and you're writing for a market where Android is close to the default. Indonesia and Thailand sit a notch below - still majority Android, but with a real iOS minority to account for. Malaysia needs the most care of all: half the market runs iOS, so anything assuming near-universal Android reach falls apart there. BetWinner is positioned differently across these markets for exactly that reason.

Methodology and Update Date

These figures come from StatCounter's mobile OS tool, July 2026 snapshot, last checked 25 August 2026. This page gets refreshed monthly or quarterly rather than replaced with a new URL every time the numbers shift.

On the platform-policy side, Android developer verification starting in Indonesia is worth reading alongside this - a change that touches distribution directly in one of the markets above.
